Art and Design plays a vital role within the curriculum at Ormiston Bridge Academy. It serves as a therapeutic, creative outlet as well as being an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge. Learners will be able to explore a wide range of artistic processes working in both 2 and 3D. There is an opportunity for them to work on their own personal projects within the curriculum. This is with the intention of capturing the interest of all learners’ and ensuring all experience success within the art room.
Learners are encouraged to see the relevance of art in the wider world and explore the variety of careers art can lead to. The KS3 curriculum aims to be progressive whilst building on prior learning and skills.
At KS4, art continues to be offered as a therapeutic outlet however learners can also pursue art as a GCSE subject.
