Careers Guidance

Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)

At Ormiston Bridge Academy, we believe that effective careers guidance contributes to raising aspirations, improving motivation, and overcoming barriers to success. We are committed to delivering high quality CEIAG that empowers students to make informed career decisions and ensures that every student has an identified post-16 destination.

Our goal is to equip all our pupils with the necessary skills to adapt to an ever-changing economic climate, inspiring them to become life-long career learners. This is achieved through a comprehensive programme of activities that spans Year 7 through Year 11, and is based on the nationally recognised Gatsby Benchmarks.

We prepare students for further education and employment by:

  • developing skills and talents for employment
  • contributing to raising their achievements and motivation
  • raising their awareness of their current and future life choices
  • enhancing their skills in coping with future transitions
  • enabling their access to higher education

We work in conjunction with a variety of external providers to support our careers curriculum in addition to a dedicated transition coach who supports students through their journey to adult education, employment or training.

“We are proud that for the past two years, all Year 11 leavers have left with a post 16 pathway offer.”
