Schools receive PE and sport premium funding from the Department for Education, based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6.
The Academy is free to choose the best way to spend our money to provide the best PE and sport activities for pupils at Ormiston Bridge Primary Academy. The documents below sets out how we are using our funding to ensure that your child gets the highest quality physical education. Our PE grant funding for this year is £7000.
Ormiston Bridge Academy has joined many schools in Hammersmith and Fulham taking part in the Fulham FC Physical Education Curriculum. This initiative is about inspiring children in the classroom, the playground, and on the field.
It provides high quality physical education to children during the school day. It hosts a number of competitions and events throughout the school year, keeping our participants motivated and inspired to take part.
The specialised PE and Sport Teacher Training increases confidence and competence in delivering physical education and school sport for a range of school staff.
Swimming provision
All learners have weekly swimming lessons on Fridays and are working towards the curriculum requirement for year 6 learners to be able to swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 meters, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
50% of our Year 6 cohort met the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 meters, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
