As part of its collaboration with external partners like the West London Careers Hub and MOPAC, the academy sent six learners on a nine-day, fully-funded hospitality training course with Beyond Food. The course offered hands-on experience, with learners being taught by chefs and restaurant staff while gaining skills in food preparation, customer service, teamwork, problem-solving, and safety in a commercial kitchen setting.
At the graduation ceremony, all learners received certificates and praise. Comments highlighted their strengths:
K – ‘so keen and always interested in cooking’
S – ‘stepped up and cooked amazing dishes’
L – ‘so keen and so clear that she wants to do well – fire in her belly!’
H – ‘amazing kitchen skills, always early, and has learnt so much’
Y – ‘made friendships across the schools.. a star on the programme!’
N – ‘real leadership potential and skills developed – he can get the group behind him’
K and H were offered further work experience and training opportunities, aligning with Bridge’s goal of supporting learners toward bright futures through enrichment and guidance programs.
