Ormiston Bridge Academy students attend Hammersmith & Fulham Holocaust Memorial Service

Students from Ormiston Bridge Academy took part in the Hammersmith & Fulham Holocaust Memorial Service, where they heard powerful testimonies connected to global moments of injustice and survival. The morning was an event where students were able to hear about experiences of persecution and survival.

The event included a moving account from a survivor of the Cambodian genocide, Var Ashe Houston, Melvyn Leach from Generation to Generation sharing the story of Willy Halpert, a hidden child in Nazi-occupied Belgium, and a presentation from the Helen Bamber Foundation.

These experiences support and enrich our Citizenship GCSE curriculum, particularly for our Year 11 students studying human rights, justice, and the importance of active citizenship.
