Royal Courts of Justice and The Old Bailey school visit

During the first week back after Christmas, students from Ormiston Bridge Academy visited the Royal Courts of Justice and The Old Bailey to bring their Citizenship GCSE learning on law, democracy and politics to life. Year 11 took part in a workshop on drug‑related crime inside a working courtroom, where they engaged in a realistic role‑play that helped them understand how cases are presented, how legal decisions are made, and the real‑world impact of crime on society.

Later in the week, students from Year 10 and KS3 explored the fast‑growing area of cyber crime through another interactive courtroom workshop. They examined real‑life scenarios, handled digital‑focused role‑play activities and gained valuable insight into how the justice system responds to online offences. Both trips allowed students to see the law in action and strengthened their understanding of the justice system beyond the classroom.
