Students celebrate GCSE results
Students and staff at Ormiston Bridge Academy, an alternative provision school based in London, are celebrating today as Year 11 students collect their GCSE results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, commitment and determination.
There has been huge personal success across the school, which is part of Ormiston Academies Trust, with students taking home hard-earned results after two years of preparation and studying.
This year’s cohort achieved particularly well in citizenship, with an increase of 26% of learners achieving a grade 4 or more and science showed an increase of 6% of learners achieving a grade 4 or above when compared with last year’s results.
The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.
While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:
- One student achieved fantastic results gaining eight GCSE passes, six of which were grade 4 and above
- Another student achieved eight GCSE passes with five passes which were grade 4 and above
Ormiston Bridge Academy is committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing and aspirational learning environment where every pupil feels safe, valued and supported to achieve their full potential. As part of Ormiston, the school is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, gains the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
Sophia Martin, Principal at Ormiston Bridge Academy, said:
“We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students today. They have shown resilience, determination and a real commitment to their learning, and they should all be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.
“Every student has overcome their own challenges and reached this milestone in their own way, which makes today’s results all the more special. We congratulate every one of them and look forward to seeing them continue to grow as confident, happy and successful young people as they take their next steps.”
